Thanks, New Kid...I do what I can. They look ok, but I'm still waiting for my first victim to give me some feedback. They're still sitting in my fridge, which i sure will deduct plenty of flavor points. =( Maybe I should've waited a day or so to make them...

Sometimes, when it's really, really hot and now one wants to play tennis, I like to turn it up even more and bake...
My attempt my mom's recipe for 'Jam Buns'...not exactly what I expected, but I'm just following the recipe.
They burnt...I think there's a discrepancy in the temperatures of ovens in Malaysia back in the day and the conventional ovens today...I don't know how else to explain it...
Cream cheese pound cakes.
2nd attempt using apricot jam instead
They still came out funny looking, but at least this time they didn't burn.

Made a red velvet birthday cake with almond-vanilla cream cheese frosting this weekend. I was rather relieved that it turned out ok because I haven’t baked anything major recently.
Four layers.
Initial crumb coat.
Final coat.
Borders.
A few crystallized violets.
The final effect.
I was going to decorate it with chocolate covered strawberried, but it was already too tall as it was..ah well…now hopefully I’ll get it to the office tomorrow without any accidents.

With vanilla bean cream cheese frosting.
Jelly Belly centers. ^_^ (I don't like jelly beans, but they looked pretty.)
